Beer Festival Setup

This is the setup for the Venue in Cleveleys. The job came to us quite late – one weeks’ notice – but fortunately we got it done. It was a bit of a scramble in the end but the event went really well and everyone involved was pleased.

This is quite a big one for us with 24 cask taps and a full ‘remote’ setup for four keg taps but it all worked and looked like a work of art by the time we finished. Obviously, I was totally obliged to spend a couple of (very pleasant) evenings on site in a tech support/beer taster role! Fortunately, the setup worked flawlessly once we coaxed it into life so tech support wasn’t needed – which was a very good thing because beer tasting took over quite quickly…

A brilliant event. A bit of a stretch for our little business to be honest but it went very well and we look forward to more of them.

Beer Gas

Beer gas for home brewers and for dispense within home bars has become something of an issue in some areas and, as it happens, the Fylde Coast where we are is one of those areas.

Beer gas is kind of the under appreciated component in home bars or home brewing setups but when we get down to it it’s a critical component. Without gas all of the home bars we install, every single one of them, stops dispensing beer. Similarly, if you carbonate beer in your brewing setup as we do over here in’t shed, or ferment under pressure as some do, then without CO2 your process comes to a halt.

As ever with these problems we’ve looked for a solution and whilst we don’t always find a solution we have in this case; we’ve done a deal with Hobby Brew and are now their appointed agent for beer gas on the Fylde Coast and surrounding area. We can supply C02, 30/70 and 60/40 beer gas.

The deal is a £70 bottle deposit with refills (cylinder exchanges actually) priced ay £36 for mixed gas and £35 for CO2.

This is definitely a step away from finding a bottle on Freebay and then exchanging it for a full with the gas company or getting a cylinder from a pal who has a pub, we get that completely, but it is a guarantee of supply locally and you won’t be stuck for beer gas.

Beer Sheds!

As the country comes back to life and we all try to figure out what the new ‘normal’ looks like and we over here at Shed Beer are no different.

Our guess at the moment is that, as the pubs open and we begin to socialise again, then people who had a function planned for summer or autumn might start thinking that it’s possible again.

What this should mean is that our ‘Beer Shed’ concept is back in play and that we will be able to supply kick ass mobile bars to events and functions across the Fylde Coast.

These are completely self contained units; all they need is a plug socket. We deliver the unit, plug it in and make sure it’s happy, give you a guided tour and leave you to it. Give the unit a couple of hours and you will have cold craft beer to dispense yourself; it’s that simple.

We are currently looking at dates in July as being possible so are happy to put some dates in the diary. Initial enquiries by email to steve@shedbeer.co.uk and we will give you a call to discuss.
